A 'Letter to America' from the Anna Pierrepont Series in Arterrain

With the help of my editor, Nancy Geyer, my works on paper of the fate of public monuments in this monumental moment have been combined with words that collectively capture my record of this quickly unfolding present. Thanks also to the Editor and Chief of Terrain.org, Simmons Buntin. Not only did the folks at Terrain offer me this extraordinary platform but expedited its publication and believed these works qualify as a 'letter' to my beloved and deeply troubled fellow Americans.

Exhibition in France!

For six weeks in the summer and early fall of 2021, I participated in a virtual residency under the auspices of Mango III. Our residents were divided into two groups and I spent a wonderful and intense time with four amazing artists from India, Switzerland, the US, and Uruguay. We were ably led by the residency director, Mercedes Aliaga Pueyrredon from Argentina. Our efforts have culminated in an exhibition at LExpressior! in Marnay-Sur-Seine, France with an opening on 11-18-21

'Zachary Taylor' from Capital featued in 'Paper' exhibition at the inauguration of the Esperanto Gallery in Markham, Ontario

'JEB Stuart Splashed' Richmond (merged with a painting by Derrick Breidenthal) is the cover of the Spring 2021 issue of 'Breakwater Review"

Richmond native, Nicole-Anne Bales Keyton, the Editor and Chief of the extraordinary publication Breakwater Review, overlays my work with that of Derrick Breidenthal to reconcile her profound emotions as the murder of George Floyd ushers in a transformation of one of the places that she knows best, the iconic Monument Avenue in Richmond with its former statues of Confederate heroes. The cover image features an equestrian monument depicting the Confederate general JEB Stuart that is depicted as splashed in my picture with red similar to the red in Mr. Breidenthal's beautiful paintings. She includes an image of the now empty plinth that held the monument now consigned to erasure as the statues to the Confederacy’s heroes are systematically being removed from the Capitol of the Confederacy 156 years after Richmond was burned to the ground and the dream of a slave owning republic perished in a city reduced to ruins.

Lee Removal Dallas in the Spring 2021 issue of Chestnut Review (for Stubborn Artists)

I would like to thank James C. Rawling and his staff from the Chestnut Review (for stubborn artists) and his staff for including my panel painting from my Fairfield University Art Museum exhibition ‘Monumental Follies” of work crews scampering over an equestrian statue in Dallas from Turtle Creek Park in 2019. Chestnut Review will be hosting a virtual launch party that I will be discussing the work on Saturday, 4-17 at 11:00, looking forward to it!
